The Opportunity
We're looking for a motivated Software Engineer Intern who is passionate about programming, problem-solving, and building reliable software systems. This opportunity is ideal for an engineering student or recent graduate looking to strengthen their technical skills through hands-on experience with real-world software development.
You will work closely with experienced engineers to develop and test software components, work with APIs and databases, troubleshoot issues, and learn industry-standard engineering practices. You'll gain exposure to production-oriented systems while building a strong foundation for a career in software engineering.
What You'll Do
- Assist in developing, testing, and maintaining software features and backend services.
- Write clean, readable, and maintainable code under the guidance of experienced engineers.
- Develop and consume REST APIs as part of application development.
- Work with SQL and NoSQL databases to retrieve, store, and manage data.
- Apply data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming concepts to solve technical problems.
- Write unit tests, debug code, and help identify and resolve software issues.
- Use Git for version control and collaborate with team members through code reviews.
- Follow software development best practices, coding standards, and documentation guidelines.
- Work with Linux environments and learn relevant development tools and workflows.
- Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver assigned tasks.
- Learn about scalable software systems, backend architecture, and reliable application development.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Current engineering student or recent graduate in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
- 0–1 years of experience, including relevant internships or academic projects.
- Strong programming skills in at least one language: Python, Go, or C++.
- Good understanding of data structures, algorithms, and problem-solving techniques.
- Understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) concepts.
- Familiarity with developing and consuming REST APIs.
- Basic knowledge of SQL and databases such as MySQL.
- Familiarity with Git, Linux, and software development fundamentals.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively.
- Self-motivated, curious, and eager to learn new technologies and engineering practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
- Hands-on experience through academic projects, personal projects, or previous internships.
- Exposure to backend development, web services, or distributed systems.
- Familiarity with unit testing, debugging tools, and code review practices.
- Interest in building scalable software systems and working with AI-driven healthcare technology.
