Job Description:
The VP, Enterprise Architecture & Technology Strategy within the Chief Technology Officer's organization, is a critical leader, responsible for cultivating, communicating and driving a unified technology strategy and partnering to achieve its execution. In this high-impact role you will lead teams directly and indirectly to ensure we evolve all our products and platforms to a strategic point of view. Your responsibilities will include, and are not limited to, technology strategy development and execution, enterprise architecture leadership, innovation and technology governance as well as cross team technical collaboration. By actively cultivating understanding about our strategy, clearly articulating our current state architecture, defining the cross functional paths forward and partnering with technology, product and executive leaders you will play a key role in driving our transformation.Technology Strategy Development and Execution:
Collaborate with the CTO to define, refine, and drive the company’s technology strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and market trends.
Lead the development of strategic technology roadmaps, balancing innovation with operational efficiency and scalability.
Manage the execution of technology initiatives, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and alignment with strategic goals.
Enterprise Architecture Leadership:
Define and maintain the enterprise architecture framework, ensuring it supports the business’s long-term goals and adapts to evolving industry standards.
Oversee the development of architectural blueprints and technical guidelines that ensure system interoperability, scalability, and security.
Lead the evaluation and selection of technology platforms, tools, and services, ensuring they align with the company’s architecture principles and strategic direction.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with engineering, product management, operations, and other key stakeholders to ensure technology strategies are effectively integrated into product and operational planning.
Act as a liaison between technical teams and business leadership, translating complex technical concepts into actionable business strategies.
Innovation and Technology Governance:
Drive innovation within the enterprise architecture, identifying and promoting emerging technologies that provide competitive advantage or operational improvements.
Establish and enforce technology governance policies, ensuring consistency, compliance, and risk management across all technology initiatives.
Team Leadership and Development:
Lead and mentor a team of enterprise architects and strategy professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Develop talent strategies to attract, retain, and develop top-tier technology professionals within the organization.
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:
Regularly communicate the status of technology strategy and enterprise architecture initiatives to the executive team, board members, and other key stakeholders.
Present strategic technology plans and architecture recommendations to senior leadership, articulating their business impact and value.
Performance Monitoring and Continuous Improvement:
Establish metrics and KPIs to monitor the performance of technology strategy initiatives and enterprise architecture practices.
Continuously assess and optimize technology processes and practices, driving efficiencies and improving the alignment with business goals.
Risk Management and Compliance:
Identify and mitigate risks related to technology strategy and enterprise architecture, ensuring adherence to industry regulations and internal policies.
Ensure that all technology initiatives are designed and implemented with a strong focus on security, compliance, and data privacy.
Perform other duties that support the overall objective of the position.
Education Required:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, math, or a related technical field.
Master’s degree preferred.
Or, any combination of education and experience which would provide the required qualifications for the position.
Experience Required:
10+ years driving technology, product and platform transformations.
8+ years managing technical teams and resources.
5+ years leading enterprise architects, strategists or other resources responsible for global technology direction setting and management.
Experience writing software in one or more languages (.Net, Java, Python, etc.)
Demonstrated decomposition & modernization of monolithic products.
Extensive experience driving transformation from on premise architectures to cloud native architectures.
Strong experience partnering with cross functional leadership to establish a unified strategy across multiple technical domains (software engineering, devops, cloudops, data and analytics services, etc..)
License/Certification Required:
Professional certification in enterprise architecture TOGAF, Zachman, etc. are highly beneficial.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of: Depth of knowledge in modern engineering, architecture and data practices.
Skill in: Strong collaborator who effectively engages across organizational boundaries, builds relationships and engages key talent to achieve organizational goals. Strong analytical, problem solving, negotiation and organizational skills. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills that drive execution excellence.
