Information Security Placement - 12 months - Leicester

The role
Technology drives what we do at NEXT, and as a Tech Placement, you will be a vital part of our evolution. This role is designed to help you learn and grow by giving you hands-on experience and real responsibilities.
What you'll take on
In this 12-month placement, you’ll help us keep our systems safe by actively monitoring and responding to potential threats. You'll gain hands-on experience in a fast-growing field, working across the wider Information Security department. This is a unique opportunity to learn from experienced professionals, investigating security incidents and helping our company recover quickly.
As a core team member, you will collaborate with Engineering to maintain robust security controls, partner with Vulnerability & Threat Management, and support Incident Response during security event investigations.
You'll help us stay on top of new threats and discover ways to improve our security tools. This role offers the chance to work directly with different teams to test our defenses and find opportunities for growth. If you’re a problem-solver with a passion for technology, we want to hear from you.
You'll be doing all this from our Leicestershire Head Office. A fast-paced, encouraging, and supportive environment in which everyone brings an energy and a commitment to delivering for our customers and their own careers.
This is a 12-month industrial placement and applicants must be studying a relevant University Degree course that includes a dedicated placement year July 2027 to July 2028.
About you:
- Currently studying towards a STEM degree (on track for a 2:1 or higher) or a STEM Master's degree, that includes a 12-month placement—ideally with relevant studies in Information Security.
- You're self-motivated and eager to learn, with a self-motivated attitude to handle any new challenge.
- Your ambition is clear through your passion for analytical and programming skills and commitment to building a great career.
