About your future role 

We are establishing Developer Experience as a core strategic pillar within Nexi – building the standards, tooling, and capabilities that help developers and partners to integrate with our payments platforms successfully, across Europe. We have a strong foundation: an existing documentation site, an engaged developer community, and real learnings from years of live integrations. Your role is to take it to the next level.

The developers using our documentation include external technical integrators new to payments, AI coding agents that demand new structural thinking, and technical evaluators who assess our developer experience before a line of code is written. Designing for all three, coherently, is the objective this role owns. 

You will sit within our Product Design, Research & Delivery function – a cross-functional team that works across all of Nexi’s product teams and markets. You will work alongside designers, researchers, and delivery leads who take ownership seriously and move at the speed the work demands. The architecture you define in the first half of 2026 goes to the CPO for sign-off. 

 

What you will do

  • Define the future vision of documentation and developer journeys – building on existing learnings and feedback

  • Drive product discoverability - ensure developers can find and understand our products capabilities, and integration paths regardless of entry point

  • Design contextual onboarding pathways that guide skilled developers through complex payments domain concepts as part of the integration experience

  • Establish dual-standards for AI agent-readiness and human readability – creating structure that serve both simultaneously

  • Ensure end-to-end quality from code samples and interface patterns to content structure, from first discovery to production

  • Build the contributing model that enables product teams to scale documentation without creating fragmentation

  • Make sharp “build vs. buy” decisions - evaluating and integrating vendor solutions where they accelerate delivery

  • Measure what matters using developer feedback, satisfaction data, and integration analytics to sharpen priorities as the platform evolves

  • You will set the standards and make the right thing easy - influencing through quality and relationship rather than process

 

What You Bring

  • 5+ years on developer tools, documentation platforms, or technical products

  • Technical acumen: Deep understanding of APIs, SDKs, and how AI coding agents consume documentation

  • Docs-as-Code fluency: Proven experience with Git-based workflows, markdown, CI/CD

  • Active AI fluency: A genuine part of your daily workflow, not just a learning goal

  • Alignment: Proven ability to drive standards across autonomous, distributed teams 

  • Domain context: Exposure to payments or a high-complexity technical environments

  • Vendor knowledge: Familiarity with modern documentation platforms and evaluation frameworks

  • Partner dynamics: Understanding of ISV and partner ecosystem dynamics

  • Desing system: Solid comprehension of design systems and FE/engineering alignment

  • Accessibility: Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG)

  • Regulated industry: Financial services or regulated industry background
