We are seeking a motivated Sports Intern (24 hours per week) to join the Best Sports Team in Town!

Note: This internship is scheduled to run from February 3, 2025, to April 11, 2025 (10 weeks). Participants are expected to work approximately 24 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

  • Write, produce, and edit stories for digital and print publications, initially with guidance from editors

  • Work on tight deadlines, producing stories in a timely fashion

  • Cover live events, such as MLB games or NBA and NHL practices, or press conferences

  • Uncover new stories and effectively pitch them for publication

  • Partner with the sports video department, helping create daily content

  • Assist in optimizing and executing site's social media strategy

Requirements:

  • Experience at a college newspaper or website strongly preferred

  • Deep knowledge of all sports, in particular New York teams

  • Track record of strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Familiarity with the New York Post and our writing style
