About the role

We are seeking a Principal Engineer at Netskope’s Santa Clara, CA office.

The base salary offered for this role will begin at $197,829 and up to $220,000. Salary is one part of Netskope’s competitive package. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location.

What you will be doing

• Design and develop a metrics-based data driven service resilience monitoring dashboard, providing service health evaluation/visibility.
• Evangelize usability and adaption of service resiliency dashboard across the Company’s organization.
• Train operation and escalation teams on how to improve troubleshooting efficiency on service/application issues.
• Work very closely with service owners to identify service reliability, availability, and scalability gaps for the resilience monitoring dashboard.
• Define a long-term service improvement plan, implement architectural changes and achieve measurable overall service quality enhancement.
• Build Company production service validation platform to validate services post provisioning, deployment and maintenance.
• Triage, troubleshoot and mitigate any on-going, key customer impacting production issues with constant self-learning and expertise.
• Technically lead the team, provide technical design, architecture guidance and mentorship to other team members.
• Improve Sumologic and Prism dashboards and alerts for all NGINX-based load balancers across company to quickly identify and mitigate any production issues.
• May telecommute.

Required skills and experience

• 7 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a software engineer-related occupation
• Position requires at least 7 years of experience in each of the following skills:
  • Sumologic, Zabbix, Grafana, and Prometheus;
  • NGINX, HAProxy, and IPVS load balancer;
  • Linux, TCP/IP, and tunneling protocols like IPSec and GRE;
  • Python, Shell scripting Ansible, and Jenkins;
  • Docker and Kubernetes; and
  • Secure Web Gateway (SWG) and Cloud Access Secure Broker (CASB).

Required Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering or related field
