Staff Engineer II - Software Development

We are seeking a Staff Switching Software Engineer to drive technical strategy and product innovation across our SME-focused switching software organization. This role requires a recognized expert in embedded switching systems who can shape our technology roadmap, drive market-leading innovations, and establish engineering excellence standards for the small and medium enterprise market.

Key Responsibilities

  • SME Market Innovation Strategy: Define and execute innovation roadmap for SME managed switching solutions, identifying breakthrough opportunities in simplified enterprise networking

  • Product Architecture Leadership: Lead system architecture decisions for next-generation SME switching platforms supporting 800GB+ switching speeds while maintaining cost-effectiveness

  • Market-Driven Innovation: Drive adoption of cutting-edge technologies specifically adapted for SME markets including AI-powered network management, edge computing integration, and IoT-optimized switching

  • Competitive Innovation: Lead breakthrough product innovations that establish clear competitive advantages in the SME switching market

  • Customer Innovation Partnerships: Establish innovation partnerships with key SME customers and channel partners to drive market-focused product development

  • Industry Thought Leadership: Represent the company as a technical thought leader in SME networking, speaking at industry conferences and driving market education

  • Patent Portfolio Development: Lead development of intellectual property portfolio focused on SME networking innovations

  • Market Dynamics: Deep understanding of SME networking market trends, buyer behavior, and channel partner requirements

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering (PhD preferred)

  • 10-15 years of switching software development with proven track record of product innovation

  • 5+ years of experience developing products specifically for SME markets or similar customer segments

  • Deep industry expertise and recognition in switching technology development with focus on market-driven innovation

  • Proven track record of driving breakthrough product innovations with measurable market impact

  • Experience with intellectual property development and patent portfolio management
