Engineering Manager, Delivery Engineering

Productivity Engineering is the organization tasked with making Netflix engineers more effective by building and supporting the infrastructure to create, build, test, deploy, run, and observe the Netflix stack. The Delivery Engineering team is a key part of this organization that ensures engineers can ship the thousands of services that power Netflix safely and reliably. We are looking for a talented engineering leader to join our team

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Technical Vision: Smartly invest in the delivery platform architecture (e.g. orchestration, deployment safety) to ensure Netflix engineers can ship their services quickly and safely and as we continue to grow

• Domain Expertise: Deeply understand the software delivery domain and how engineers ship code at Netflix. Promote a productivity-centric engineering culture that cares about making fellow engineers more effective.

• Product Vision: Invests in understanding how Netflix engineering will evolve in the future and develop an iterative roadmap with product leaders to meet those needs.

• Team Leadership: Hold a high bar in hiring and retention. Inspire the team toward timely execution and delivery. Ensure high and consistent velocity of output even in the face of ambiguity. 

• Customer Partnerships: Collaborating with customers and partners to ensure alignment

QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong understanding of distributed systems and architecture

• Experience in leading engineering productivity teams, with Delivery domain experience strongly preferred

• Deep empathy and connection for other engineering teams and their business goals

• Track record of building and leading exceptional software engineering teams

• Proven experience coaching and developing technical leaders

• Ability to balance competing priorities across multiple cross-functional partners and programs

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

• Desire and ability to foster an inclusive environment

Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $190,000 - $920,000
