Release Train Engineer - Pod Lead @MMC Tech

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Product Delivery Engineering team at Marsh McLennan (MMC). This role will be based in Cluj, Romania.

Marsh McLennan has established its EMEA Technology Hub in Cluj, reflecting our commitment to innovation and excellence. This hub is central to our digital strategy, addressing emerging challenges and enhancing service delivery through advanced technology solutions that empower our clients and promote sustainable growth. In this role, you will oversee one or more Pods, ensuring the successful delivery of working software to production while implementing our Agile at Scale Delivery model.

In Product Delivery Engineering, our mission is to revolutionize the collaboration between our Mercer business and IT teams, enabling them to unlock the advantages of rapid and secure software delivery to the market. To achieve this, we are implementing our Agile at Scale Delivery model. As a leader in this role, you will be responsible for overseeing one or more Pods and ensuring the successful delivery of working software to production.

We will count on you to:

• Run the software delivery Pod, ensuring smooth and efficient processes for getting software from requirements to production.

• Focus on value creation, growth, and serving customers while managing a Pod of 5-8 squads (30-100 people).

• Collaborate with Product Owners and Business Analysts to prioritize and groom the backlog, delivering an Alpha early and continuing to provide value throughout the project lifecycle.

• Foster collaboration, break down silos, and identify and remove blockers to ensure effective delivery.

• Own the Continuous Improvement backlog for the Pod, driving improvements in time to market, efficiency, and quality.

What you need to have:

• Excellent communication skills in both English and Romanian.

• Significant experience in organizational Agile transformation and Agile Programme management.

• A broad technical understanding of software architecture, test engineering, DevOps practices, and security in an Agile environment.

• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and coach senior executives.
