A day in the life.

As a Quality Engineering Manager at Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA), you will be responsible for establishing and leading a robust QA program within our application development team. You will manage a team of QA Leads, QA Testers, and other QA professionals, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest quality standards are met throughout the software development lifecycle. Your role will involve preparing detailed reporting and status reports to communicate testing progress, quality metrics, and potential risks to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment across teams. You will also play a key role in selecting the appropriate tech stack for testing tools and frameworks, ensuring they align with the overall development environment and enhance the efficiency of the QA process. Additionally, you will be responsible for documenting the QA process, creating comprehensive guidelines and best practices that facilitate consistent testing methodologies and continuous improvement within the team. By fostering a culture of quality and collaboration, you will help drive the successful delivery of high-quality applications that meet our clients' needs.

  • Demonstrated expertise in both automated and manual testing practices, with the ability to develop and implement strategies that ensure high-quality software delivery across all phases of the development lifecycle.

  • Establishing and implementing a comprehensive quality assurance strategy that aligns with the organization's goals and product roadmap.

  • Leading, mentoring, and managing a team of QA Leads, QA Testers, and other QA professionals, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.

  • Overseeing the creation and execution of test plans, test cases, and test scripts to ensure thorough testing of applications across various platforms.

  • Working closely with development, product management, and other stakeholders to ensure quality is integrated throughout the software development lifecycle.

  • Establishing processes for defect tracking, management, and resolution, ensuring that issues are identified, documented, and addressed in a timely manner.

  • Evaluating, selecting, and implementing appropriate testing tools and technologies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the QA process.

  • Documenting QA processes, methodologies, and best practices to ensure consistency and facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.

  • Analyzing testing processes and methodologies, gathering feedback from retrospectives, and implementing improvements to enhance team productivity and product quality.

  • Identifying training needs and providing opportunities for professional development to ensure the QA team remains skilled in the latest testing techniques and tools.

  • Identifying potential quality risks early in the development process and working with teams to mitigate those risks effectively.

  • Regularly communicating with stakeholders about quality initiatives, project status, and any issues that may impact delivery timelines or product quality.

These additional qualifications are a plus, but not required to apply:

  • Experience with data analysis and optimization tools such as DAX Optimizer and DAX Studio.

  • Proficient in document management software including Adobe PDF Reader and PDF Exchange.

  • Familiarity with web/application servers like Apache Tomcat 8.x.

  • Skilled in programming languages such as C#, JAVA, Python, and JavaScript.

  • Experience with database management tools such as Microsoft SQL, SQL Management Studio, Mongo DB, and Apache Directory Studio.

  • Proficient in integrated development environments (IDEs) such as Eclipse Mars+.

  • Expertise in testing and automation tools including Bruno, Postman, JMeter, BlazeMeter, LoadRunner, K6, Sauce Labs, Playwright, and Selenium.

  • Knowledge of monitoring and analytics platforms such as Datadog

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, related degree, or relevant experience.

  • 5+ years of product and or business analyst experience.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $87,800 to $153,700.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
