The Python Engineer - Network and Security is responsible for developing and supporting new automated solutions to improve the management and security posture of the global Marsh & McLennan network. They will build and execute the strategic roadmap, with a focus on self-service solutions, integrated systems and automated processes for public cloud, private cloud, and traditional enterprise network environments.

THE ROLE & YOUR MISSION

• Working closely with network engineering and security teams to develop automation solutions using Python, Django, Ansible and other frameworks as appropriate.
• Developing automated integrations for various APIs, databases, and web applications to populate and maintain data in a network information source of truth.
• Working to improve network data accuracy and availability to various teams across the organization.
• Scheduling, monitoring, and reporting on automated job executions within automation orchestration systems.
• Acting as a technical resource for other analysts on the team.
• Assisting with diagnosing and correcting coding issues.
• Communicating effectively with team members and management.
• Ensuring code quality via peer reviews and automated scanning workflows.
• Working with teams to develop project plans and communicate software development plans utilizing Agile development methodology.
• Maintaining existing software solutions by assisting with software maintenance, upgrades, and migrations.
• Providing technical support to colleagues for existing problems escalated as appropriate.
• Researching and evaluating emerging technologies.

YOUR EXPERIENCE & VALUES

Development experience:

• 2+ years’ experience as Software Engineering
• In depth experience developing with Python.
• Developing within the Django framework.
• SQL database design and maintenance.
• REST API, GraphQL, JQuery
• Agile development methodology

Nice to have:

• Using Automation frameworks like Nornir, Ansible.
• SCM/Git
• Azure DevOps
• Experience designing and deploying containerized applications with Kubernetes.
• Automating Cloud infrastructure provisioning and lifecycle maintenance.
• Experience developing with Go, Java, JavaScript, MongoDB
• Experience working with Netbox, Rundeck, Splunk
