What You can Expect from Us!

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Data Analytics Intern to join our team for the summer 2025 internship program. This internship offers a unique opportunity for Junior or Senior students to gain hands-on experience in the healthcare industry, working with large datasets that include medical claims, pharmacy claims, and membership data. Interns will collaborate closely with actuaries and underwriters, contributing to impactful projects that enhance our analytical capabilities.

• Real Experience - No coffee fetching for you. You’ll complete your assignment, knowing industry career options along with relevant work experience – all while performing actuarial analysis associated with the consultative management of employee benefit programs!

• Learning Opportunities – We host a series of national webinars that introduce you to our industry and our organization. They’re designed to set you up for success as an emerging professional, and to help you better understand MMA and our industry.

• Build Connections - You’ll grow your network by working closely with your manager, mentor, and other interns.

• Develop Career Skillsets – Our interns will work directly with our teams…learning the basics of our world-class program while working to develop actual clients relationships.

• Cultivate Industry Relationships - We provide opportunity to meet with a wide variety of our industry partners allowing you to grow your professional network.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze and manipulate large datasets using R, SQL, and Python to derive insights and support decision-making processes.

• Develop predictive models to forecast trends and outcomes in healthcare data.

• Create interactive reports and dashboards using Power BI to visualize data findings and communicate results effectively.

• Stage and prepare data for analytical work, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.

• Collaborate with team members on various technical tasks and projects, contributing to the overall success of the analytics team.

• Participate in team meetings and presentations, sharing insights and learning from experienced professionals in the field.

What We Need from You!

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Data Science.

• Interest in health care markets and health economics preferred.

• Familiarity with programming languages such as R, SQL, and Python.

• Experience with data visualization tools, particularly Power BI, is a plus

• Strong interest in the Insurance Industry

• May 2026 graduates

• Legal work authorization to work in the U.S on permanent and ongoing basis without the need for sponsorship now or in the future

• Post-graduate geographic desires within the Mid-Atlantic Region

Attendance throughout the entire program period is required.
