Job Description
Our Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) portfolio is a powerhouse collection of consumer-first brands, supported by media industry leaders, Comcast, NBCUniversal and Sky. In this role, the Sr. Manager, Operations will share responsibilities in the development and maintenance of TechOps tooling and automation to optimize highly available data pipelines that facilitate deeper analysis and reporting by the business, as well as support ongoing operations related to the Direct to Consumer data ecosystem. The candidate will act as a liaison between data engineering and other teams, advocating for data-driven decision making and best operational practices.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Manage and mentor a high-performance team of ML and Data Engineers
- Collaborate with Data Science teams to transform experimental ML models into robust, production-ready applications, ensuring scalability, performance optimization, and minimal latency.
- Develop and maintain automated, observable, and secure data and model pipelines, embracing a "you build it, you run it" approach and focusing on automation and GitOps practices.
- Drive the evaluation and selection of technologies for MLOps, model monitoring, and CI/CD, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices.
- Facilitate cross-functional agile ceremonies and story definition, ensuring that business stakeholders’ acceptance criteria are integrated effectively.
- Partner with Principal Engineers and Architects to contribute to and align with the broader technical vision for ML operations.
- Champion best practices within the ML Engineering team, continuously raising the bar on performance, efficiency, and reliability.
- Operationalize data processing systems and enable SRE practices for model observability and reliability in production.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of relevant experience in Machine Learning Engineering, Data Engineering, or MLOps, with a focus on operationalizing ML models in production.
- Proven leadership skills, with experience managing and mentoring ML or Data Engineering teams.
- Strong background in creating and maintaining data and model pipelines for a large-scale ML environment.
- Proficiency in designing scalable, distributed, and highly available systems using cloud platforms (Google Cloud or AWS preferred; AWS experience a plus).
- Expertise with orchestration and workflow tools such as Apache Airflow, and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for ML models.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as Python, Java, or Scala, with experience in writing reusable and efficient code for automating ML processes.
- Hands-on experience with technologies like Kubernetes, Apache Spark, Snowflake, Databricks, or equivalent.
- Deep understanding of MLOps best practices, including model monitoring, serving, versioning, and automated retraining.

- Strong understanding of Test-Driven Development, with a focus on creating automated tests for model validation and deployment.
- Experience with structured and unstructured data processing, including integration with diverse data sources (e.g., advertising metrics, consumer devices).

- Effective at fostering constructive dialogue and resolving complex issues in a collaborative, cross-functional setting.

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks. Salary range: $140,000-$180,000 (bonus and LTI eligible)
