Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated interns to join our SaaS product company in a paid, remote internship opportunity. This internship offers valuable hands-on experience in a dynamic, fast-paced environment focused on healthcare technology solutions.
As an intern, you will work on meaningful projects, collaborate with experienced team members, and contribute to the development of modern innovative products and services. With guidance and mentorship, you will gain exposure to how teams design, develop, test, document, and support secure, scalable solutions while learning modern engineering practices, Agile methodologies, and healthcare technology standards.
We are seeking both recent and expected graduates interested in full-time opportunities and current students interested in part-time internship positions. This is an excellent opportunity to build professional experience, expand your technical skills, and gain insight into a growing healthcare technology organization.
Responsibilities
- Participates in team meetings and contributes ideas for ongoing projects
- Conducts research and analysis to support project objectives
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to implement solutions
- Documents processes, updates project status, and provides regular feedback
- Participates in training sessions and workshops to enhance skills
- Builds relationships with teammates, learns about company culture, and gains valuable insights into the workplace
- Conducts themselves professionally, demonstrates a willingness to learn, takes initiative, and contributes to the team's success
- Assists with development, testing, documentation, and learning assignments under direct supervision
- Writes basic code, scripts, queries, or configuration updates as assigned, with review and coaching from experienced team members
- Learns to identify, research, and troubleshoot basic software issues using established practices and team guidance
- Participates in team discussions to understand business requirements, technical constraints, and customer impact
- Gains exposure to the software development lifecycle through supervised project tasks and learning activities
- Participates in code reviews, demos, and feedback sessions to build technical judgment and professional skills
- Learns and follows applicable security, privacy, documentation, and compliance practices relevant to healthcare technology work
- Observes and participates in Agile ceremonies and contributes to assigned intern-level deliverables appropriate to the learning plan
Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Foundational exposure to one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, JavaScript, COBOL, or SQL
- Basic understanding of software development concepts gained through coursework, academic projects, bootcamp, certification program, or equivalent learning
- Interest in learning iterative delivery, software design, testing, and software engineering practices
- Interest in learning Agile methodologies, version control, code review, and team-based delivery
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other standard business productivity tools
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize work, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing priorities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote, team-oriented environment while demonstrating a customer-focused mindset
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- We are a product company with legacy systems in use. Knowledge of mainframe and/or mid-tier applications programming (COBOL, ALC, DB2) and file utilities is preferred
- Coursework, academic projects, bootcamp experience, certification, or personal projects involving application development, databases, cloud concepts, automation, mainframe concepts, or healthcare technology
Experience
- 1 year of experience achieving usable, used, and useful solutions
- No prior professional software development experience required
- Academic, volunteer, bootcamp, certification, or personal project experience in software development is preferred
Required Training, Certification and Education:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Must be enrolled in a college or university program, or to have recently graduated
- Must be a senior or expected to graduate within one year of the internship
Working Conditions:
- This is a temporary internship with set beginning and end dates
- Remote/Home office with adequate connectivity
- Must be able to sit and use equipment at workstation for up to 8 hours daily
- Full-time or part-time schedule may be considered based on program design and academic commitments
