It performs translational research that covers the energy value chain from generation to innovative end-use solutions, motivated by industrialisation and deployment. ERI@N has multiple Interdisciplinary Research Programmes which focus on translational Research, Development & Deployment which focus on specific area of the energy value chain, and a number of Living labs and Testbeds which facilitate large scale technology deployment enabling validation and demonstration of real-world applications.
We are looking for a Engineer to lead the scale-up of VRFB stack designs from lab and pilot scale to commercial systems, ensuring performance, reliability, and manufacturability. The role bridges R&D, testing, and production to enable smooth transition into large-scale deployment.
Key Responsibilities:
Scale VRFB stack designs from prototype to multi-kW and MW-class systems, addressing electrochemical, mechanical, and thermal challenges.
Develop and validate stack architectures, materials, and component interfaces to improve efficiency, durability, and cost.
Plan and execute stack testing programs including performance, lifetime, stress, and failure analysis.
Work closely with manufacturing, supply chain, and automation teams to ensure designs are production-ready.
Support development of test rigs, SOPs, and quality benchmarks for scaled stack validation.
