Software Engineer, Smart Contract Development

Mysten Labs believes that decentralized and open protocols are the bedrock of the internet of value. This is why at Mysten Labs, we are creating foundational infrastructure to accelerate the adoption of decentralized protocols based on blockchain technologies.

Smart contracts are applications on the blockchain that require an integration that is much more than writing the contract in Move. Data on chain is critical to evaluate the behavior of the application, indispensable to build monitoring and data analysis in general. Integration with traditional web solutions is often in place.

We are building a platform to make programming on Sui the best experience possible, and it’s the platform we want to evolve through concrete applications/solutions we have developed.

That process benefits from someone capable of presenting and evangelizing the platform and at the same time someone willing to interact with the community -- collecting requirements and helping push the Move core platform forward.

The space is pretty vast with different specializations. Tooling is important. Library and Move framework is vital. Solid understanding of performance characteristics is critical for applications evolution.

We are looking for someone with passion for developer experience and programmability, at the same time someone that can reason over programming languages and models.

What You'll Do:

• Work with Move to build packages and smart contract for the core framework and specific solutions

• Understand the entire stack of a blockchain solution and help build the framework needed to program on SUI.

• Understand the characteristic of the system (Sui and Move) and help design evolutions of programmability of the system

• Ideate and build tooling to improve all the aspects of Sui programmability

What you’ll have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field

• 5+ year of relevant experience

• 3+ years of smart contract development

• Rust, typescript knowledge or experience

• Good understanding of programming languages. Experience in the space a big plus.

• Tooling experience in IDE style app, system programmability (e.g DB programming) welcome.

• Data manipulation and integration

• Understanding of blockchain programming is also welcome
