Description

We’re on a mission to provide equitable access to economic opportunity, for everyone.

We close critical skill gaps in the workforce through a new kind of apprenticeship that combines work and learning. We begin by recognizing high-potential individuals both inside and outside of a company's current workforce and then we create applied, guided and equitable learning programs, with measurable impact. Because we believe the world needs a better way to match its potential.

We work with over 1,500 leading companies including the likes of Microsoft, Citi and Just Eat to help solve their business-critical problems, and we’ve trained over 16,000 professional apprentices in the tech and data skills of the future. This is made possible by our global team who are driven to achieve a mission that matters, together.

Join Multiverse and help us set a new course for work.

As part of our team you’ll have the opportunity to mentor the next generation of DevOps engineers while playing a key role in shaping the future of our infrastructure.

We're looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer who shares our passion for equity, learning, and innovation.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience in software engineering, systems administration, or a related field.

  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, including production-grade deployment and troubleshooting.

  • Experience with AWS cloud services (EC2, S3, Lambda, CloudFormation, RDS, VPC).

  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

  • Experience with infrastructure automation tools like Terraform (Cloudformation & Ansible is a welcomed bonus).

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, particularly using GitHub Actions, CircleCI, or Spacelift.

  • Understanding of version control systems like Git, with experience in branching strategies and code review processes.

  • Understanding of networking concepts and experience configuring network components.

  • Problem-solving skills to handle and resolve technical issues, particularly in production environments, and communicate incidents and solutions as part of incident management or team knowledge transfer (KT) sessions.

Nice to have (but not essential):

  • Certifications / Qualifications such as AWS DevOps or CKAD

  • Knowledge of incident management frameworks such as  ISO 27001 or SOC2 and tools like Amazon GuardDuty, Vanta, or SIEM.

  • Familiarity with RabbitMQ or other data streaming technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor: Empower and uplift colleagues through knowledge sharing, mentorship, and hands-on guidance, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.

  • CI/CD pipeline management: Manage continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions to enable automated builds, testing, and deployment of software applications. Experience with Spacelift is a plus.

  • Kubernetes management: Architect, build, and maintain Kubernetes clusters, ensuring efficient service migration, debugging, and management. CKAD certification is beneficial.

  • Incident management: Lead incident response efforts, including post-mortem analysis to prevent recurrence.

  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Configure and manage infrastructure using Terraform, ensuring scalable and efficient provisioning. Bonus if you have experience with CloudFormation or Ansible.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineering teams to implement best practices for version control, branching strategies, and code reviews.

  • Process automation: Automate processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention in software delivery.

  • Monitoring and troubleshooting: Proactively monitor and troubleshoot production environments, ensuring uptime and performance.

  • Containerization & AWS management: Implement and manage containerization technologies like Docker, Fargate, and EC2. Manage and configure AWS cloud services to support application deployment and scaling. Experience with Azure is an added bonus.

  • Security & compliance: Ensure security best practices in infrastructure and applications, and support security assessments and compliance efforts.

  • Cross-functional collaboration: Collaborate with teams across development, InfoSec, and QA to promote communication and adoption of DevOps practices.

  • Monitoring and logging solutions: Improve and maintain monitoring and logging systems like CloudWatch to track performance and detect issues.

Benefits of working with us:

  • Time off - 27 days holiday, plus 7 additional days off: 1 life event day, 2 volunteer days and 4 company-wide wellbeing days

  • Health & Wellness - private medical Insurance with Bupa, a medical cashback scheme, life insurance, gym membership & wellness resources through Gympass and access to Spill - all in one mental health support

  • Room for Growth: We value your vision for career progression and will support you in achieving your professional goals.

  • Empowering Employee Resource Groups (ERGs): Join inclusive communities like LGBTQ+ at Multiverse, Women at Multiverse, and Black at Multiverse.

  • Vibrant Social Tech Channels: Connect with colleagues through community-driven spaces like Tech Socials and Pets at Multiverse.

  • Autonomy & Creativity: Enjoy the freedom to develop creative solutions and have a real impact on the tea

Frequently Asked Questions

  • We prioritize job seekers as our customers, unlike bigger job sites, by charging a small fee to provide them with curated access to the best companies and up-to-date jobs. This focus allows us to deliver a more personalized and effective job search experience.
  • Salaries for the engineering jobs on our site range from $100K-$200K. On average, senior engineer positions on our EchoJobs are about $160K.
  • The EchoJobs positions have been sourced and vetted from the top companies to work for in the US as a software engineer, including LinkedIn and other reputable job sites. We also have syndicated jobs from companies that have just raised funding, as well as those that have great unique products and culture. From all of these sources, our founder, Morgan, has also resourced the company's authenticity in terms of their website, public appearance, and more.
  • Yes, our users asked us for just this, so now our search filters allow you to search for your top jobs via location, as well as by onsite, remote, or both. Approximately 30% of our jobs are remote, so you’ve got the best options for you!
  • We have not yet implemented this option, but are considering doing so in the future. For the moment, you would need to cancel your subscription, and resubscribe when you wanted to come back.
  • We add new jobs to EchoJobs every day! We scan our sources for the newest jobs, verify them, and post them to EchoJobs within minutes. We add about 2,000-3,000 new jobs for you each day!
  • From starting your job search to getting hired, the entire job search process can take us software engineers anywhere between 3-6 months. However, at EchoJobs, we’re striving to shorten this duration by finding the best, newest jobs for you, so you can do less job searching, and more applying.
  • We’d recommend checking EchoJobs daily, as we add new jobs to the site each day. Additionally, if you got a chance to read our previous email on “what makes EchoJobs different from any other job search tools,” we also recommended that you set a job alert based on your job filters, so if you get emails on those new jobs, you could be checking more than once per day.
  • If you decide to continue with us after the 1-month trial, we definitely recommend this, as we all know it usually takes 3-6 months to find a quality job as a software engineer these days. So to best support you, we just adjusted our membership options at EchoJobs to monthly, 3 months, or 12 months (this option is more for passive job seekers looking a little bit for the future if they want to come back to work or make a job switch potentially. This lets you see what’s out there in case an even better fit job becomes available.)
  • EchoJobs is truly the only job site of its kind. We want to be THE spot for you to find the best job for you, and haven’t encountered any other company doing this. Other job sites are in niches besides software engineering or focus on a small portion of engineering jobs (like a specific coding language). In the words of Morgan, our founder, “I think what makes EchoJobs different is the amount of jobs, frequency that we add new jobs (we add 2,000-3,000 new jobs daily!), and the powerful search engines to find exactly the job you want more easily and efficiently. We can provide you with the most jobs that are vetted by us, we’ll continually find more new jobs for you, and we make it easier for you to apply and get hired.
