Position Title:  Software Engineer , Full Stack Developer

Job Profile  

 

As a part of HR applications Technology, the Full Stack Technical Lead will lead develop, architect and support full stack product development for enterprise function applications in MUFG. 

The Technical Lead should have experience of leading teams in technical aspects and should have experience of working in Global Teams. This is a hands-on technical role which requires expertise in Java backend development,  

Major Responsibilities: 

  • 80% hands-on architecture/development/administration and 20% lead. 

  • Experience building and supporting software in a modern fullstack environment, including backend services/APIs (Java and/or Python) and frontend user interfaces (React or similar).  

  • Handson experience using SQL and relational databases for application development, data analysis, validation, and troubleshooting.  

  • Proven exposure to data security principles, technology controls, and regulatory or compliance imperatives within a production environment.  

  • Experience with Copilot and promptbased AI capabilities including both backend and frontend code generation; handson experience is preferred.  

  • Ability to create and interpret system interface specifications, data mappings, and endtoend process designs.  

  • Expert understanding of software architecture concepts, including APIs and services, data stores, authentication and authorization mechanisms, logging and monitoring, and how these components interact within a production system.  

  • Exposure to common application patterns such as RESTful APIs, authentication fundamentals, and SQL query patterns used by Java and Pythonbased services.  

  • Experience with CI/CD and software quality practices, including automated testing, code reviews, and deploying/operating services in production.  

  • Working knowledge of Gitbased version control systems (GitHub) and comfort using developer tools such as IDEs and commandline interfaces; ability to use GitHub Copilot to assist with Java, Python, React, and SQL development while validating outputs through testing, peer review, and secure coding and compliance standards.  

  • Strong analytical, problemsolving, and decisionmaking skills, with close attention to detail.  

  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and nontechnical audiences  

  • Responsible for creating Functional and Detailed Design documents, Software Configuration Plans and Unit Test Plans. 

  • Analysis, preparation and updating technical documentation within the project team following prescribed Bank technical policy and procedures. 

  • Identification and escalation of risks, issues, and blockers 

  • Collaboration with business analysts and Business partners to understand requirements, review designs, conduct testing and demonstrate products. 

  • Mentoring and coaching team members and participating in all aspects of architecture, design, development and testing. 

 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or information systems or computer science or related required 

  • 10+ years of experience in software development in cross functional teams and leading/guiding teams working in onshore/offshore model 

  • 10+ years of experience implementing technology solutions at banks or financial institutions. 

  • 3+ years of experience in OpenShift platform with Kubernetes, AWS Technologies. 

  • 5+ years of experience with designing OLTP databases. 

  • Experience with JBoss, tomcat or similar web app servers. 

  • Eperience in developing applications using J2EE tech stack including Angular and Micro Services 

  • Experience with web services such as REST, SOAP and WSDL 

  • Well organized and demonstrates strong technical proficiency in system analysis and application design. 

  • Proven ability to learn new technologies quickly. 

  • Well organized and able to simultaneously manage several disparate tasks over varying timescales. 

  • Self-motivated, and able to troubleshoot issues independently. 

  • Experience with both Agile and Waterfall SDLC methodologies 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. 

  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills. 

  • Experience writing FDDs and DDDs. 

  • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and manage changing priorities.
