The Senior Network Engineer – Team Lead is a highly skilled hands-on professional responsible for designing, implementing, and managing complex network environments that support Movement Mortgage’s enterprise infrastructure. This role oversees the network architecture, ensuring optimal performance, security, resiliency, uptime and scalability across LAN/WAN environments. They assume the lead role in troubleshooting and resolving advanced network issues as well as supporting day to day activities guiding junior network administrators. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in routing, switching, firewall management, wireless and network monitoring tools, with the ability to adapt to new technologies and industry trends. This position will also have profound understanding of data center best practices, environmental and power management, and knowledge of telecommunication carrier and colocation facilities standards.
Responsibilities:
Under minimal supervision, an effective Senior Network Engineer Team Lead will be required to contribute in a variety of manners, including but not limited to:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement network solutions that support the business requirements of 400+ branch locations including 3 operation centers and one data center.
- Executes enterprise network design (functional and technical), planning, and implementation
- Coordinate with SecOps to design, implement and support security policies, access controls, and data protection mechanisms
- Designing, implementing, testing and maintaining disaster recovery solutions for networking environments, collaborating with cloud engineering where necessary to ensure a robust communications backbone
- Working within our Service Cloud ticketing environment to accurately track, prioritize, and manage incidents, service requests, and change management processes.
- Work with business units to schedule after hours systems maintenance and independently execute with minimum supervision.
- Lead, mentor and provide guidance to junior network administrators
- Lead efforts around capacity planning and optimization to ensure efficient network utilization, scalability, and redundancy
- Collaborating with vendors and third-party providers to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, as well as managing vendor relationships.
- Maintaining up-to-date documentation, including system configurations, processes, and procedures, to facilitate knowledge sharing and enhance team efficiency.
- Conducting regular audits and vulnerability assessments alongside the SecOps team to identify and mitigate security risks, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Mentor team members and serve as a point of escalation for network support requests
- Continuously staying updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices related to networking and cyber security then proactively applying that knowledge to improve system performance and reliability.
- Test and troubleshoot multi-homed, multi-carrier internet BGP failover configurations.
- Perform network capacity planning, anticipating future growth needs and recommending infrastructure upgrades or enhancements
- Participate in the evaluation and selection of new network hardware and software
- Coordinate with network equipment vendors and service providers to resolve issues and ensure the timely delivery of services
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or certification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
- 8+ Years experience in a network engineering role with progressively responsible experience
- 8+ Years implementing and administering network monitoring solutions utilizing industry leading solutions
- 5+ Years hands on experience designing, implementing and supporting Fortinet solutions such as FortiSwitch, FortiGate, FortiAP, FortiManager,and FortiMonitor.
- 5+ Years experience managing network-based DNS and DHCP services
- 2+ Years administering FortiGate or equivalent SD-WAN solutions
- 2+ Years experience with ZTNA technologies
- 1+ Years experience as a technical team lead
- 1+ Years experience with FortiAuthenticator and FortiAnalyzer
- Deep knowledge of routing protocols such as BGP
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills to communicate with team members, other departments, upper management, and partners
- Ability to maintain a keen attention to detail, multi-task, and work well under pressure
- Natural tendency to be curious, positive, and creative
- Cooperative ability to adapt and manage change in the workplace
- Sincere empathy for the customer and a commitment to delving deep into the challenges as they arise.
- Ability to work after hours as required to support implementations, upgrades and escalated network incidents
- General understanding of geographically diverse IP Scheme.
- General understanding with governance and change control procedures.
- Ample experience with remote office/branch deployment, teardown, upgrade, and documentation.
- Ample knowledge and deep understanding of basic networking protocols and technologies such as: Spanning Tree, LACP, IPSec as well as routing protocols like BGP and OSPF

- One or more Fortinet certifications (FCP, FCSS, FCA)
- Experience deploying and configuring FotiGate-VM on Azure
- Cloud based networking experience (Azure/AWS)
- Experience with Windows Server based technologies such as NPS(RADIUS), DNS, DHCP
- Experience with Jira/Confluence and Salesforce Service Cloud
- NinjaOne experience
The expected salary range for this position is between:
$121,300.00 - $164,900.00The range for the position in other geographies may vary based on market differences. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
