Duties: Draw on experience/knowledge with Python and C++ programming languages used to create AV production software, software design, source control management, build processes, code reviews, testing methods, and the design, train, analyze, and deploy neural networks, and cross-functional project team industry experience to work with state-of-the-art non-linear optimization solvers. Design novel motion planning architectures (e.g., Model Predictive Control). Design and formulate optimization problems and employ state-of-the-art solvers to solve motion planning problems. Train and evaluate software models in a distributed fashion. Perform software design and development of scaling Machine Learning infrastructure. Perform data mining to find interesting and impactful data. Research metrics and model introspection. Coordinate and lead cross-team projects. Contribute to technical strategy, conduct software code reviews. Deploy software models on vehicles and evaluate their performance using metrics. Work closely with the production Motion Planning and Controls team to identify places where a data-driven deep learning approach is beneficial. May telecommute from any US location. Requirements: Master’s degree in robotics, mechanical engineering, or a closely related technology/engineering field plus 1 year of Autonomous Vehicle (AV) industry experience reflecting demonstrable ability in the skill sets described above. Salary range: from one hundred ninety thousand dollars to two hundred twenty thousand dollars per year. This position is eligible for employee referral programs.
