Develop software that improves the on-road performance of Motional’s autonomous vehicles. Manage petabytes of data from the autonomous vehicle to build pipelines that improve our Machine Learning infrastructure and algorithms. Build workflows to support development. Provide essential software functionality for our growing Autonomy and Sensing organization. Design and implement data pipelines at scale, process PBs data with Python and Spark. Design, implement, and deploy automated cloud-based services using Docker and Kubernetes. Design and implement ML inference service at scale. Manage job orchestration and infrastructure for daily data pipeline with Airflow. Improve the cost, time, and memory efficiency of existing pipelines. Design and implement the backend of multiple search engine and visualization tools. Manage and improve the end-to-end system and storage infrastructure of PBs data. Collaborate with upstream and downstream teams on setting up data pipelines and deliver data in good qualities. Design and implement inspection tools to identify the bottlenecks of data pipelines. Solve Ad-hoc requests by downstream teams. Position is fixed location based in Boston office; however, telecommuting from a home office may also be allowed up to three (3) days per week. Job Requirements: Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science or a directly related field plus one (1) year of experience as a Software Engineer, Software Development Engineer or a relevant internship/occupation. One (1) year of experience in the following (experience may be gained concurrently): Python. Experience working with Linux. AWS experience or equivalent. Experience with workflow orchestration engine: Airflow or equivalent. Experience with ETL or large-scale data processing. Experience with Spark or equivalent. Experience with Kubernetes. Experience in one or more object-oriented programming languages: C++, C#, or Java. Experience with deployment using Docker, REST API, and CI/CD. Experience with data warehousing systems such as BigQuery, Redshift, or Snowflake. Experience with messaging systems including Kafka, ZeroMQ, RabbitMQ, Kinesis, or SQS. 40 hours/week, 9:00am-5:00pm.
