Description

MongoDB’s mission is to empower innovators to create, transform, and disrupt industries by unleashing the power of software and data. We enable organizations of all sizes to easily build, scale, and run modern applications by helping them modernize legacy workloads, embrace innovation, and unleash AI. Our industry-leading developer data platform, MongoDB Atlas, is the only globally distributed, multi-cloud database and is available in more than 115 regions across AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure. Atlas allows customers to build anywhere—on the edge, on premises, or across cloud providers. With offices worldwide and over 175,000 developers joining MongoDB every month, it’s no wonder that leading organizations, like Samsung and Toyota, trust MongoDB to build next-generation, AI-powered applications.

MongoDB Technical Services Engineers will combine exceptional problem solving and communication skills with deep technical experience to advise customers and solve complex MongoDB problems.

They are experts in components of the MongoDB ecosystem - database server, drivers, our management suite, and services such as Cloud Manager (the online product we developed for customers for automation, backup, monitoring, and analysis of their MongoDB systems), and MongoDB Atlas. They combine their MongoDB expertise with passion, initiative, teamwork and a great sense of humor to achieve exceptional results for our customers.

The working days for this role are NOT Mon-Fri. The candidate can choose one of the following shifts to be their permanent and regular work week: Wed-Sun, Thurs-Mon, and Fri-Tue.

We are looking to speak to candidates who are based in Bengaluru for our hybrid working model.

Cool things you’ll do

MongoDB is on a mission to change the way people think about databases. Along the way, our customers encounter questions and issues about how our approach to databases works for their use case. In Technical Services, it's our job to help these people. To provide exceptional support, we're investing in specialized resources who can deliver high-quality services and meet the unique needs of critical customers in FSI.

Your primary focus will be on addressing complex technical issues, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing solutions in support of and collaboration with FSI customers. You will deliver results that meet our FSI customers stringent requirements for security and availability. This includes

  • Providing technical support and troubleshooting services to FSI customers
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management, driving prompt resolution of incidents and building trust with FSI customers
  • Developing deep understanding of our FSI customer’s specific technologies, regulations, and policies to effectively address customer needs
  • Collaborating with teammates across our Customer Engineering organizations to ensure seamless handovers and cross-functional solutions for FSI customers
  • Participating in on-call rotations and working outside standard hours as needed to support global 365/24/7 operations
  • Contributing to knowledge sharing and documentation of best practices, specializing in FSI customers

FSI engineers may be exposed to material non-public information through the course of their work. For this reason, and due to the nature of the highly regulated industry in which our customers operate, FSI engineers may be subject to enhanced background checks and additional constraints around the trading of securities. The successful candidate will understand this and have willingness to participate in enhanced background checks and agreements with customers which may include, but are not limited to, customer review of any proposed trades on behalf of the FSI engineer, before they are executed.

Finally, MongoDB Technical Services puts a strong focus on engineers enabling their peers to be successful by sharing newly gained technical knowledge with the team, either via informal one-to-one conversations, or training and workshop sessions. By documenting solutions in our knowledge base system, Technical Services Engineers will increase the efficiency of our customers, other team members and departments throughout MongoDB.

What you need

We are looking for curious, and multi-faceted teammates who are driven to serve our customers. The right candidate will be excited by the opportunity to create impact both for our FSI customers, and influence MongoDB’s strategies and processes to scale exceptional FSI customer support.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • We prioritize job seekers as our customers, unlike bigger job sites, by charging a small fee to provide them with curated access to the best companies and up-to-date jobs. This focus allows us to deliver a more personalized and effective job search experience.
  • Salaries for the engineering jobs on our site range from $100K-$200K. On average, senior engineer positions on our EchoJobs are about $160K.
  • The EchoJobs positions have been sourced and vetted from the top companies to work for in the US as a software engineer, including LinkedIn and other reputable job sites. We also have syndicated jobs from companies that have just raised funding, as well as those that have great unique products and culture. From all of these sources, our founder, Morgan, has also resourced the company's authenticity in terms of their website, public appearance, and more.
  • Yes, our users asked us for just this, so now our search filters allow you to search for your top jobs via location, as well as by onsite, remote, or both. Approximately 30% of our jobs are remote, so you’ve got the best options for you!
  • We have not yet implemented this option, but are considering doing so in the future. For the moment, you would need to cancel your subscription, and resubscribe when you wanted to come back.
  • We add new jobs to EchoJobs every day! We scan our sources for the newest jobs, verify them, and post them to EchoJobs within minutes. We add about 2,000-3,000 new jobs for you each day!
  • From starting your job search to getting hired, the entire job search process can take us software engineers anywhere between 3-6 months. However, at EchoJobs, we’re striving to shorten this duration by finding the best, newest jobs for you, so you can do less job searching, and more applying.
  • We’d recommend checking EchoJobs daily, as we add new jobs to the site each day. Additionally, if you got a chance to read our previous email on “what makes EchoJobs different from any other job search tools,” we also recommended that you set a job alert based on your job filters, so if you get emails on those new jobs, you could be checking more than once per day.
  • If you decide to continue with us after the 1-month trial, we definitely recommend this, as we all know it usually takes 3-6 months to find a quality job as a software engineer these days. So to best support you, we just adjusted our membership options at EchoJobs to monthly, 3 months, or 12 months (this option is more for passive job seekers looking a little bit for the future if they want to come back to work or make a job switch potentially. This lets you see what’s out there in case an even better fit job becomes available.)
  • EchoJobs is truly the only job site of its kind. We want to be THE spot for you to find the best job for you, and haven’t encountered any other company doing this. Other job sites are in niches besides software engineering or focus on a small portion of engineering jobs (like a specific coding language). In the words of Morgan, our founder, “I think what makes EchoJobs different is the amount of jobs, frequency that we add new jobs (we add 2,000-3,000 new jobs daily!), and the powerful search engines to find exactly the job you want more easily and efficiently. We can provide you with the most jobs that are vetted by us, we’ll continually find more new jobs for you, and we make it easier for you to apply and get hired.
