Job Summary

• Seeking a Cloud Software Engineer 1 to support the development and deployment of enterprise cloud-based solutions within a mission-driven environment
• This position contributes to the design, development, integration, and maintenance of scalable cloud-native applications supporting large-scale compute and data analytics platforms

Primary Responsibilities

• Support the design, development, integration, testing, deployment, and maintenance of cloud-based software applications
• Develop scalable and reliable software capabilities supporting enterprise compute and data analytics platforms
• Participate in Agile software development activities, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, code reviews, testing, and demonstrations
• Analyze software and system requirements and translate them into functional software solutions
• Develop and maintain software using modern programming languages and development practices
• Support software installation, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, troubleshooting, and problem resolution
• Develop and maintain applications operating within Linux-based environments
• Assist with integrating software applications with cloud services, APIs, databases, and supporting infrastructure
• Support containerized application development and deployment
• Participate in automated build, test, integration, and deployment activities
• Troubleshoot software, integration, and deployment issues across development and cloud environments
• Develop and maintain technical documentation associated with software development and deployment activities
• Collaborate with software engineers, cloud engineers, systems engineers, test engineers, and other technical team members
• Apply secure software development and DevOps practices throughout the development lifecycle
• Support continuous improvement of software development, automation, and deployment processes

Required Qualifications

• Must have active Top Secret/SCI clearance with NSA Full Scope Polygraph
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline and zero (0) years of experience in software development, cloud engineering, or a related technical field; or
• A minimum of two (2) years of experience in software development, cloud engineering, or a related technical field in lieu of a degree
• Qualifying experience must include one or more of the following:
  • Requirements analysis
  • Software development
  • Software installation
  • Software evaluation
  • Software enhancement
  • Software maintenance
  • Problem diagnosis and resolution
• Degrees in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering, or similar technical disciplines will be considered
• Experience with one or more programming languages such as:
  • Java
  • Python
  • C++
• Experience working within Linux-based operating systems

Desired Qualifications

• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker
• Experience with container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes
• Experience with continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) tools and DevOps practices
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Ansible
• Experience supporting cloud-native or distributed applications
• Familiarity with automated testing, deployment, monitoring, and configuration-management practices
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and teamwork skills

Exempt hourly position. 11 paid holidays, minimum of 3 weeks PTO, company sponsored group medical plan, company paid dental, vision, life insurance, and STD/LTD plans. Salary is dependent upon the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
