Moesif is looking for a Backend Software Engineer professional to join our team. Responsibilities

• As an engineer on a high-volume API analytics platform, you'll take an active role working with forward thinking customers and partners in the API space.
• Research, design, implement and maintain backend application code and services.
• Write clean, modular, reliable, testable and efficient code.
• Work with data structures and schemas, algorithms, data processing, distributed systems and services.
• Document technical designs, test, plans, and technical requirements to support clarity of direction and efficient development work.

• 1+ years of experience as a backend engineer.
• Strong in system design, data-structure and algorithm development with emphasis on composable architectures.
• Strong in one or more platforms (Java, Scala, Bigdata using Spark, Logstash).
• Strong in data modeling and DB schema modeling.
• Strong REST API design skills thinking about backwards compatibility and how customers interface with APIs.
• Experience in Scala and Spark highly preferred. Our backend is written mostly in Scala, with some Python APIs.
• Familiar with high volume and high frequency backend service development.
• Familiar with event streaming architecture and tools like Kafka, Azure EventHub, or similar
• Familiar with large scale distributed databases like Elasticsearch, Druid, or Cassandra.
• Good devops chops like Docker, Ubuntu, Azure, AWS, or similar.
• Bachelor's degree or higher (or equivalent)
• Recent Computer Science graduates with strong credentials will also be considered.

Helpful skills

• Excellent problem solving skills - know how to break a complex problem into simpler pats and be able to explain how you do it.
• Wants to get their hands dirty and wear multiple hats (API design, infrastructure, application code)
• Familiar with good devops practices like CI/CD, site reliability, and security
• Familiar with Microsoft Azure tools and services
• Experience with analytics tools and developer facing platforms
• Self-starter, self-motivated, able to work independently, strong entrepreneurial spirit
