Mechanical Engineer - Automotive ECU

We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our mechanical engineering team at the AV Platform department as a key player in the development of next-generation ECU (electrical control unit) for autonomous vehicles.
 
This key position includes leading the product design throughout all lifecycle stages, from inception to mass production, close interaction with hardware, layout, thermal, quality, V&V, reliability, production and working closely with OEMs, stakeholders and suppliers.

What will your job look like?

  • Take full ownership of the mechanical design, from concept, through detailed design and support during Qualification, NPI and MP stages.
  • Work closely with the hardware and layout team to define PCB outline, height limitation, keep outs and integrate the electrical design into the mechanical.
  • Perform DFM, mechanical simulation and stack up/tolerance analysis.
  • Analyze customer requirements and extract all relevant information for the ECU design.
  • Work closely with OEMs and tier-1 manufacturers.

All you need is:

  • B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or higher (or equivalent experience).
  • 6+ years in mechanical design in the automotive industry.
  • Experience in mechanical PCB design.
  • Excellent hands-on experience with 3D CAD ( SolidWorks- advantage).
  • Self-motivated with a sharp learning curve and able to work independently and as a teammate.
  • Strong background in design of mechanical components for high-volume manufacturing technologies, such as: stamping, die casting, extrusion, and injection molding.
  • High awareness for quality and manufacturability, and understanding of statistical tolerance analysis techniques, CTF dimensioning, and GD&T, DFM and FMEA.
  • Understanding of industry standards, safety regulations, and compliance requirements in automotive design.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities to address technical challenges and optimize designs for performance and manufacturability.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
