Location: Taounate, ma

Job Description

Reporting to the LTSA Project Manager, the Resident Engineer will provide on-site technical support to the client’s Operations and Maintenance team, helping to ensure the safe, reliable and efficient operation of Mitsubishi Power equipment under a Long-Term Service Agreement. This is a development-focused role, suited to a junior to mid-level engineer with a background or strong interest in Instrumentation and Control, automation, electrical engineering, commissioning, start-up or industrial operations. You will be trained and supported to develop into a resident I&C and reliability specialist, acting as a key technical interface on site and helping to resolve operational issues, support maintenance activities and improve equipment availability.

What will you do in the role?

  • Provide resident on-site technical support, with a focus on Instrumentation and Control, control systems and unit operation.
  • Act as a primary technical interface with the client’s Operations and Maintenance team, providing day-to-day technical support and coordination.
  • Support rapid troubleshooting, root cause analysis and corrective actions for operational, instrumentation and control system issues.
  • Help protect unit availability by identifying technical risks, escalating issues appropriately and supporting effective resolution.
  • Support planned, preventive and corrective maintenance activities under the LTSA.
  • Develop capability in diagnostics of sensors, actuators, field instrumentation, control loops, control logic and system behaviour.
  • Analyse unit performance, trips, derating events and operational trends to help identify root causes and reliability improvements.
  • Contribute to control system optimisation, alarm management, tuning and wider reliability improvement activities.
  • Support spare parts stock management, including identifying critical spares, monitoring inventory and coordinating replenishment to reduce downtime risk.
  • Help prepare planned outages, including scope definition, scheduling, resource planning and technical coordination.
  • Act as the initial site coordinator during unplanned maintenance events, helping to structure the response until dedicated outage support is mobilised.
  • Liaise with the client, internal project teams, OEM specialists and remote technical support to ensure clear communication and efficient issue resolution.
  • Prepare technical updates, issue logs and progress reports for the LTSA Project Manager and wider project team.

Qualifications

What are we looking for?

  • Graduate-level education in an engineering discipline, ideally Instrumentation and Control, Automation, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • A background or strong interest in I&C, automation, electrical systems, control systems or industrial operations.
  • Basic understanding of DCS systems, field instrumentation, sensors, actuators and control loops.
  • General understanding of gas turbines, generators, rotating equipment or power generation technology would be beneficial.
  • Exposure to commissioning, start-up, operations, maintenance, field service or industrial engineering would be advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a structured approach to problem-solving.
  • A hands-on mindset and willingness to work in a site-based environment.
  • Good communication skills, with the confidence and professionalism to work directly with client teams.
  • Good time management and coordination skills, with the ability to support multiple technical priorities.
  • Fluency in business English.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of MS Project would be advantageous.
  • A professional, collaborative and self-driven approach, with high standards of safety, integrity and ownership.
