Minitab is expanding our Program Management team at our State College, PA headquarters. We are looking for someone who can facilitate the successful execution of strategic projects and initiatives that support Minitab’s business objectives; effectively communicate the status, blockers, and decisions needed throughout the life of the project or initiative; and assist in defining our processes to plan, track, and report on projects and initiatives. 

 

Position Summary 

The Technical Project Manager role oversees the successful completion of technical projects from proposal through delivery. These projects typically require a high degree of cross-company coordination and regular collaboration. This position requires technical knowledge, project management skills, and excellent communication skills. The Technical Project Manager will develop project plans and ensure that the project is delivered on time, on budget, and with a high standard of quality.  

 

Responsibilities 

  • Provide overall project leadership and direct project teams in the on-time delivery of high-quality products. 
  • Communicate project status to all stakeholders, ensuring common understanding and agreement of project deliverables and status. 
  • Keep project teams focused by continually removing roadblocks that impede the team’s success. 
  • Escalate issues related to project where appropriate. 
  • Support the team to self-organize in a productive way. 
  • Assist with budget, staff, and other resources necessary to accomplish the goals and/or objectives of the project. 
  • Assist with identifying process improvements within product development and work with other members of the team to implement the improvements. 

 

Qualifications 

  • 3+ years of project management experience 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or additional equivalent work experience 
  • Strong facilitation, time management, and organizational skills.   
  • Strong process orientation, problem solving and troubleshooting skills.  
  • Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.  
  • Knowledge of all aspects of the software development lifecycle. 
  • Knowledge of project management methodology, including traditional project management as well as agile methodologies (Scrum). 
  • Software design, development and/or testing experience preferred. 
  • Demonstrated ability to become proficient with new applications and understand emerging technologies.

This position position is 100% in office Monday - Friday. Minitab does not cover the cost of relocation fees.
