Azure Infrastructure Architect

This is an initial six month contract based in London with a start date of early October.

We are seeking a talented and experienced Project Manager for one of our clients, an education business. The business provides a range of services to over 18,000 schools, 1,900 staff, 30,000 educators and over 5m pupils, including staffing support, virtual learning environments and learning management systems, managing school workloads, risks and financial constraints.

• Providing infrastructure architecture and hands-on infrastructure engineering support for a range of projects that are all concerned with simplifying a diverse technology estate onto a standard Azure-based infrastructure.  
• The ideal candidate will be hybrid Infrastructure architect / engineering with good planning and project management skills, including vendor management. A self-starter, confident in advising, architecture design & planning as well hands-on configuration and implementation work.
• The person must have a ‘can-do’ attitude and be generally flexible and adaptable to deal with a variety of priorities, both long-term and short-term operational issues, including helping on critical incidents.
• The candidate will have good stakeholder management skills and work collaboratively as part of a team, including project managers, business change experts, security and infrastructure engineers.
• This is a hybrid role, requiring 1-2 days in central London and very occasional travel to other UK offices of the affected business units.
• Key technical skills include: Azure, Azure PKI, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Active Directory, InTune, Netskope, VMware. 
• Details on specific immediate priority projects follows:
• M365 Tenant Migration
• Technical oversight of a Microsoft 365 tenant migration project, concerned with migrating multiple (x4) separate M365 tenants from different business units over to the central corporate M365 instance, including: Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Forms, Yammer, Accounts and Devices, On-premises file servers, Telephony (Both fixed and mobile), SSO applications in the source tenant.
• The candidate will play an important role in the discovery exercise, analysing findings, technical changes and decisions to represent the clients best interests and ensure successful delivery by the third party
• Provide architectural guidance on the outcomes of ‘as is - to be’ processes analysis, providing solutions for any customisations and integrations that exist in the current tenants, so as to ensure continued business operations in the target single tenant.
• Cisco Meraki rollout
• Rolling out new network hardware to ~50 sites. Full stack Cisco Meraki security appliance, switches and access points, including deploying an Azure PKI setup for issuing and deploying certificates to managed devices for Wi-Fi authentication.
• MPLS replacement
• Upgrading network connections to replace MPLS network and other connections to Netskope
• Local file server migration to Azure Cloud
• Migration of local file servers to cloud services (OneDrive, SharePoint etc)
• InTune MDM migration
• migration from Hybrid managed devices to Intune cloud-managed for 100’s of users
