Senior Software Engineer (Backend)

As a Software Engineer, you will:

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available backend services and distributed systems.
• Take ownership of the full software development lifecycle for both new and existing products and features, from ideation through deployment and maintenance.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, and other engineering teams to understand business requirements, provide technical recommendations, and deliver high-quality solutions.
• Participate actively in system architecture and technical design discussions, balancing scalability, performance, maintainability, and operational excellence.
• Build and maintain APIs, microservices, event-driven systems, and data processing pipelines that support large-scale consumer products.
• Partner with QA and DevOps/SRE teams to embed quality, observability, security, and operational excellence into the software delivery lifecycle.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures to improve system reliability.
• Optimize system performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency across application, database, and infrastructure layers.
• Write and maintain technical documentation, including system designs, architecture decisions, operational procedures, and testing strategies.
• Drive engineering best practices, including code quality, testing automation, CI/CD, observability, security, and software craftsmanship.
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, technical discussions, and knowledge sharing.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and engineering best practices, and advocate for their adoption where appropriate.
• You will also have the opportunity to learn and adopt frontend technologies, broadening your technical expertise while contributing to greater team flexibility and cross-functional collaboration.

What you should have:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent training, fellowship, or work experience.
• At least 5 years of technical hands-on experience with product backend development 
• Developed and delivered software system for millions of users
• Experience with debugging and diagnostic of distributed systems 
• Experience with performance optimization of various aspects of software systems
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities and requirements is an advantage.

Bonus if you have:

• Experience in loyalty, fintech, payments, e-commerce, or consumer technology domains.
• Experience with Kubernetes, containers, and cloud-native technologies.
• Familiarity with data engineering platforms, streaming systems, or event processing frameworks.
