What You'll Do - Senior Channel Sales Engineer
The Senior Channel Sales Engineer role is responsible for managing the technical relationships & presales enablement of our national channel partners. The ideal candidate has a background in a sales engineering, technical account management or technical enablement role. The Senior Channel Sales Engineer is a critical component in our channel program and initiatives through expert technical guidance, advice, support, and training. These efforts combined with key stakeholder relationships will bridge the partners to internal teams including sales, sales engineering, customer success, professional services and service delivery/support.
Responsibilities:
Develop and drive an enablement plan with the partner’s technical staff, which includes their completion of pre-sales technical certifications.
Drive Mimecast’s certification program
Maintain and grow the partner technical community
Provide enablement on solution positioning and differentiation
Coordinate and collaborate with internal cross-functional teams (including post sales, product marketing, operations and legal) to deliver a world class experience for the partner during the sales cycle, product deployment, and ongoing utilization of our solutions.
Present at partner and technical events
Running regular update and new release webinars for the partner community to keep them informed and upskilled
Lead initiatives to improve Mimecast’s overall positioning in the market with partners
Track and measure partner engagement
Travel up to 50%
What You'll Bring
Experience leading channel technical programs will be essential.
The ideal candidate will have experience building and running vendor technical programs within channel partners, owning the responsibility to build and manage successful technical programs for channel partners.
Highly proficient in selling enterprise software
Expert with networking and security technologies and services
Extensive experience with SaaS based solutions
Working knowledge of email technologies, ideally email security, Microsoft Exchange Server, Office 365/ Exchange Online
Familiarity with integration partners’ products such as: Crowdstrike, Netskope, Palo Alto mail/gateway solutions, XDR, SIEM, and DLP
Understanding of spam, viruses, email security, and internet-based threats
Presales enablement or training experience, preferably with channel partners and MSPs
Ability to explain technical solutions via product presentations and POCs
Expert understanding of the channel and MSP landscape and working model
Ability to work within a fast-paced environment
Exceptional verbal and written communication, and problem-solving skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Demonstrated track record of managing technical relationships
Any previous product evangelistic experience
Contextual knowledge of public/private cloud infrastructure
Experience in the design, implementation and/or administration of cybersecurity tools, including NGFW, DLP, SWG, CASB, CSPM, EDR, XDR, SIEM and/or SOAR
Independently delivers sales pitches, technical presentations and whiteboards up to CxO level.
Expert in applying Mimecast strategy and technology to complex customer/partner requirements and opportunities
Effectively articulates business value of a technical solution to both business and IT stakeholders
