Sr. Data Analyst

The CE&S Business Intelligence (BI) Team is responsible for delivering data-driven decision-making and self-serve analytics to optimize customer experience and support operations across Microsoft's assisted and self-service support surfaces. We build and manage data platforms and data flows, oversee data and measurement governance, develop Machine Learning (ML) models, manage support-critical data tools, and provide both core and business-specific analytics resources and guidance.

We are looking for a Sr. Data Analyst who is willing to work in a dynamic environment alongside our data governance, taxonomy and master data management team. You will need to be adept at managing business change, evolving requirements, adjustments in a strategic direction, and emerging technologies. You will need to be agile and flexible, yet proficient and disciplined. This is an amazing opportunity to be at the center of building a showcase worthy data capability, the successful candidates should have proven experience in program management, solid understanding of both business and engineering priorities, analytical, financial, organizational and communication skills. Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics or related field

  AND 7+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, data science, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis

  • OR Master's Degree in Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics or related field AND 5+ years experience in data analysis and reporting, data science, business intelligence, or business and financial analysis

  • OR equivalent experience.

     

     

Preferred qualifications

• 5+ years of product and/or program management across an impactful portfolio of projects & stakeholders
• 5+ years of demonstrated experience working in a data intensive environment and translating business needs into data requirements (experience with Microsoft Azure stack, SQL, Python, Azure Databricks, Synapse, Power BI, Fabric, Machine Learning and AI)
• Proficient in problem solving, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high quality
• Initiative and passion for finding solutions to hard problems at scale and operationalizing them
• Demonstrated ability to work in ambiguous situations and across organizational boundaries.
• Proficiency in data modelling, data analysis, data warehousing and integration, data quality assurance
• Understanding of Privacy and Compliance aspects of data storage & processing as it relates to GDPR and PII
• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and / or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire / transfer and every two years thereafter.

Data Analytics IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $121,800 - CAD $219,100 per year.

• Partner with and understand business needs of your stakeholders, prioritizing & translating those needs into technical requirements and implement alongside our data & analytics engineering team
