Are you excited about leading teams to solve complex technical problems and drive AI transformation for customers? As a Solution Engineering Manager for Cloud & AI Platforms at Microsoft, you will lead a team of Solution Engineers in empowering our enterprise customers to achieve more through Microsoft’s cloud and AI technologies. In this role, you will model Microsoft’s leadership principles of Model, Coach, Care – fostering a culture where your team members grow, succeed, and feel included.

 

As a manager of Solution Engineers, you will engage with key customer technical decision-makers, leveraging deep technical and industry knowledge to build credibility and ensure technical wins. The role includes orchestrating team resources, maximizing customer engagement impact, accelerating presales activities through deep technical expertise and thought leadership – as well as overseeing solution demonstrations, guiding customers through AI transformation and identifying new technical and business trends.

  • Extensive practical experience in designing and deploying enterprise grade systems in cloud, with strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure (or equivalent platforms) across multiple domains. Broad exposure and adaptability are valued over deep specialisation.
    • Experience leading technical conversations with enterprise clients, from understanding requirements to presenting solutions and managing objections. Able to translate complex solutions into clear business value.
    • Experience developing technical strategies aligned to business goals, including coordination with cross-functional teams such as sales, marketing, engineering and partners.
    • Experience advising senior technical and executive stakeholders, with the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear, accessible way.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proficiency in Swedish language
  • Several years technical pre-sales, technical consulting, or technology delivery, or related experience OR equivalent experience
  • Proven years experience with cloud and hybrid, or on premises infrastructures, architecture designs, migrations, industry standards, and/or technology management.
  • A few years people management experience (including leading virtual teams).

Sales Discipline Enablement

  • Align with the Specialist Sales Manager on territory and account priorities across the Account Management Team and Customer Success Team, including opportunity management and forecasts
  • Ensure the Solution Engineers in the team (covering Infrastructure, Applications, Data, and Software solutions) drive progress through key customer engagement milestones.
  • Represent the Solution Engineering team in collaboration with business stakeholders to remove blockers and secure Azure wins across Infrastructure, Databases, Analytics, AI, and Applications.
  • Coach and model best practices for the Solution Engineering Team to win customers through unified engagement strategies, skilling initiatives, and seamless transitions to the Customer Success Team and partners.

Change Management

  • Lead the Solution Engineers within the team-based model to ensure clarity on the new approach and coordination with other sales functions 
  • Set team goals to win technical decisions to accelerate revenue and position Microsoft as the preferred platform 
  • Coach the team to regularly update progress milestones to accelerate deal velocity.
  • Develop technical depth across Infrastructure, Data (including Microsoft Fabric), and AI-powered applications to support coaching and modelling of advanced solution capabilities.
  • Build team expertise to Level 400 in solution knowledge and Level 300 in architecture across cloud migration, data platforms (Azure SQL, Fabric, Databricks), AI Foundry, application architecture, GitHub, and cloud-native development.

Technical Sales Expertise Coaching

  • Ensure the Technical Sales Team leverages all available resources at Microsoft to advance customer engagement milestones.
  • Mentor the team on technical whiteboarding and mapping business processes with customers.
  • Collaborate with Global Black Belt Managers to escalate technical blockers to engineering teams for timely resolution.
  • Build and maintain executive stakeholder support to remove internal and external barriers
