Customer Experience Data team is focused on the success of Microsoft Cloud customers, sellers and partners. Our data platform powers numerous analysis services and machine learning models that answer key questions helping our customers and partners improve their business models and services. Our team also provides key metrics about cloud adoption across Microsoft and inform internal business decisions. We do this with a team of people with diverse perspectives and backgrounds who continually identify points of engagement, measure outcomes, learn from our customers and partners, and improve business models and services. In this way we make data-driven insights actionable with changes to Microsoft Cloud products and services to make them easier to use, understand, and learn about. The institutional knowledge we build as a result amplifies our impact across Microsoft to help make customer and partner success our success.  

We are looking for senior SW Engineers to technically lead a team of highly motivated and talented software developers building highly scalable data platforms and deliver services and experiences for empowering Microsoft’s customer and partner ecosystem to be successful. This is a unique opportunity to use your technical and design skills and experience in building core technologies that will directly affect the future of Microsoft on the cloud. You will collaborate with team members and partners to build high-quality and innovative data platforms with full stack data solutions using latest technologies in a dynamic and agile environment, and have opportunities to anticipate future technical needs of the team and provide technical leadership to keep raising the bar for our competition. 

Required

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent degree 

• 3-5 years’ experience as a data engineer in a data-focused role for shipped software products or services. 

• Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL and hands-on experience using distributed computing platforms like Apache Spark, Apache Flink, Apache Kafka or Azure Eventhub. 

• Production experience working with Azure Synapse, Snowflake or similar managed MPP database technologies. 

• Ability to learn and grasp concepts quickly in a fast-paced environment is critical to success 

Preferred 

• Demonstrable experience shipping software, internet scale services using GraphQL/REST API(s) on Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon Web Services(AWS) cloud. 

• Experience delivering highly secure, reliable, and maintainable code. 

• Ability to learn and grasp concepts quickly in a fast-paced environment is critical to success. 

• Familiarity with Containers and Kubernetes 

• Ability to communicate ideas effectively.  

• Experience working in cloud platform is a plus.

• Passionate about technology and obsessed about customer needs. 

• Delivering on an ambitious product and data platform roadmap, including building new services on top of vast amount data collected by our batch and near real time data engines. 

• Participate in code/peer review to ensure that quality products are delivered 

• Independently design and deliver high-quality scalable and performant applications, owning the entire SDLC end-to-end.   

• Working with stakeholders including data, design, product and executive teams and assisting them with data-related technical issues 

• Communicate effectively and build relationships with our partner teams. 

• Provide strong technical leadership, bringing in engineering best practices and maintaining data and results-driven culture
