We are looking for a Software Engineer II to join the Teams fundamentals organization and help drive multiple initiatives to make Teams best in class at reliability and resiliency. This includes innovating on how we intelligently use telemetry to measure reliability for our different audiences, how we use customer feedback, how we create diagnostics and analytics at scale to enable faster detection and debugging, how we collaborate with other teams to achieve end-end engineering excellence, and how we build resilient architectures.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand and implement user requirements. 

Other Requirements:
This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python 
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams or similar collaboration platforms is highly desirable. 
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and debug complex systems. 

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
