Description

The Energy industry is in the process of an exciting transformation towards cloud-scale digitization, and it is being powered by the Azure cloud! As part of Microsoft Cloud for Industries (MCI) - Energy, you will build on the success of Microsoft’s ecosystem and Azure’s success as a horizontal platform, to drive industry-specific conversations with our customers and help them digitally transform their vertically-specialized customer experiences, operational processes, products, and partners. Your work will span major sectors like Oil & Gas exploration, Carbon & sustainability, storage & transmission, and open-source initiatives in the Energy space (e.g., Open Subsurface Data Universe). 

We are looking for a Software Engineer II to join us! You will join a team of engineers making meaningful business impact by delivering innovative solutions to our customers. Your work will involve collaborating to develop new customer-facing features, evolving the service to scale to massive workloads, improving our delivery agility, and integrating Energy with AI.

Required/Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python 
  • OR equivalent experience. 

 

Other Requirements: 

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
    • Microsoft Cloud Background Check. This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Knowledge of software design principles, patterns, and best practices.  
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure, AWS, or similar cloud computing platforms. 
  • Experience working on large-scale projects or applications. 

 

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
