Software Engineer II - Windows

The Trust Experiences Compliance (TEC) team within Windows + Devices at Microsoft is delivering Windows features that help hundreds of millions of people worldwide protect their privacy while using Microsoft’s industry-leading AI products. TEC is hiring a Software Engineer II-Windows to help build and ship products which re-define best-in-class privacy for our customers and to help make Windows the most trusted AI driven OS on the planet!

As a Software Engineer II - Windows, you will work across product and technical boundaries to build intuitive privacy features that are easy to use, protect customers, and position Windows at the forefront of the AI revolution. You will build features that help Microsoft customers protect their privacy, understand how their data is being used, and control who gets access to their sensitive info. You will also get the opportunity to drive impact on a global scale, delight millions of customers, and support business growth while working on AI products.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years software design and development experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • OR equivalent experience.
• 2+ years experience debugging and solving complex problems using attention to detail.
• 1+ years of experiences shipping features on an OS or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience resolving ambiguities effectively, prioritizing and driving projects to completion, prioritizing between multiple needs and adapting to changing circumstances.
• 1+ years of experience with code repositories including but not limited: GitHub, Azure DevOps; as well as understanding of branching and tagging strategies; understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
  

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
