The Storage and File Systems team is part of the Azure Edge + Platform Core OS Base team. We deliver storage solutions for Windows, XBox, Azure, IoT and new devices that Microsoft and our industry partners will ship in the future. This area involves tough challenges and provides tremendous upside opportunities including leveraging the reduced size, portability and increased functionality of new storage devices, improved software platform infrastructure, emerging protocol standards, seamless integration of local and cloud storage and development of solutions to new content usage paradigms.

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++
  • OR equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of experience with multithreading programming, synchronization, locking, etc.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

• Microsoft Cloud Background Check:
  • This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

• Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • OR equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of advanced data structures e.g., BTrees, Hash Tables, Skip Lists, etc.
• Experience with storage/filesystems in Windows, Linux,  or Kubernetes.
• Experience in analyzing storage performance and functionality in storage subsystems.

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $83,600 - CAD $159,600 per year.

• Performance analysis of designs and implementations, taking into consideration the rapid advancements in storage technologies.
• Ownership of the software engineering process from design, development, code review, validation, delivery, and maintenance.
