Software Engineer II

As a Software Engineer II, you will design and implement features that enhance telemetry, detection, and recovery across core infrastructure and foundational services. Your work will help ensure rapid, localized issue detection and resilient recovery at global scale, contributing to the highest standards of performance and operational excellence.

You will collaborate with experienced engineers and partner teams to integrate observability solutions with existing systems while introducing modern approaches for efficiency and impact. Required Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  
  • OR equivalent experience.  
• 1+ year(s) experience developing and debugging distributed systems or cloud-scale services.
• 1+ year(s) of proficiency working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and deliver high-quality solutions.

Other Requirements: 

• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:  

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python 
  • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python 
  • OR equivalent experience. 
• Stellar problem-solving skills and ability to work on complex technical challenges.
• Familiarity with service reliability engineering and incident management.
• Exposure to open-source frameworks and standards related to observability.
