Software Engineer II

Azure core compute host net team is responsible for driving key networking components which runs on blades in Datacentre which define crucial part of Azure cloud. Network Performance Team within Azure hostnet owns a Performance charter for Azure hostnet Team. It plays a vital role in ensuring that Azure meets the standards it meets with its network capabilities on its various offerings. Team develops and owns quality critical tool used for internal 1P services and components testing. Service enables them to deploy various networking topologies offered by Azure and run various performance intensive workloads to ensure they meet committed networking quality standards.

As a Software Engineer II in Azure Hostnet Network performance Team you will be responsible for maintaining, design and extend cloud service by adopting Azure defined safe development and deployment practices. Role also requires investigating issues impacting network performances on those testing topologies and hence requires deep understanding of networking concept from L2 to L4 Or SDN. This opportunity will allow you to develop a design-oriented mindset, develop the code which can work at scale on cloud, hone your debugging skills and providing you an opportunity to look deep into networking topologies to unearth perf impacting aspects.

Required Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
• Experience with Cloud service development.

• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

• Experience with SDN Or L2,L4 networking concepts and performance debugging
