Software Engineer II

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python 
  • OR equivalent experience
    
• Demonstrated ability to contribute to innovative solutions and leverage new technologies to enhance product quality.
  
• Solid experience in Windows application development and familiarity with system-level software.
  
• Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of addressing challenges with a logical and results-driven approach. 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Understanding of agile development methodologies, with exposure to iterative workflows and adaptable team processes.
  
• Experience contributing to developer tools such as SDKs, APIs, CLIs, or productivity-enhancing features, with a focus on usability and developer satisfaction.
  
• Demonstrated involvement in open-source projects, reflecting active engagement with the developer community and collaborative coding practices.
  
• Familiarity with the Windows developer ecosystem, including knowledge of the Windows platform, tools, and optimization techniques.

• Works with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a set of continuous evolution of Software Development Kits (SDKs) to empower developers in seamlessly integrating capabilities, including AI, into Windows.
  
• Contributes to the identification of dependencies, and the development of design documents for a product area with little oversight.
  
• Creates and implements code for a product, service, or feature, reusing code as applicable.
  
• Contributes to efforts to break down larger work items into smaller work items and provides estimation.
  
• Remains current in skills by investing time and effort into staying abreast of current developments that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.
