As a Software Engineer II on the Platform and Services team, you will work alongside product managers, research, 3D experiences and other partner teams building the next generation of cloud services and media stacks that powers immersive, real-time collaboration experiences across a variety of devices.

Required/Minimum Qualifications  

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years as a software engineer shipping high quality software to customers using C/C++, Rust, C#, Java or similar high-level programming language. 
    • OR equivalent experience.  

Other or Additional Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:    

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. 

Preferred Qualifications  

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience as a software engineer shipping high quality software to customers using C/C++, Rust, C#, Java or similar high-level programming language.  
    • OR equivalent experience. 
  • 4+ years as a software engineer shipping high quality software to customers using C/C++, Rust, C#, Java or similar high-level programming language. 
  • Experience debugging / integrating 3D experiences with Unity, Unreal or related game engines.
  • Well-developed problem-solving and analytical skills with a solid understanding of the entire software development lifecycle.   
  • Learning, collaboration, and innovation skills, along with the ability to take responsibility and solve problems independently. 
  • Experience in building and releasing distributed, high-scale cloud services on Azure, AWS or similar.  
  • Proficiency in building services using .NET, Docker Containers and Kubernetes.  
  • Experience in designing and implementing customer-facing REST API, using ASP.NET Core.  
  • Experience in building compliant CI/CD and release management pipelines. 
Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
