Software Engineer II- Backend Development

The Bing Places team is on a mission to empower people and organizations everywhere to explore, navigate, and connect in the physical world via data, services and experiences provided within the Microsoft Edge and Bing toolsets.  

The Mobile User Experiences team in Barcelona is looking for a backend developer to help shape product direction and ship great user experiences.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field and considerable experience in technical engineering with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C++, C#, Java or Python
  • OR equivalent experience.
• Experience in optimizing performance and debugging. 

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with or interest in learning mobile or web client applications (TypeScript, Kotlin, or Swift). 
• An interest in mentoring and growing junior developers in your wider team
