Senior Software Engineering Manager

The Azure Edge + Platform Engineering System designs, builds, and operates the largest scale engineering system in the industry. We are building large scale systems by leveraging our experience and knowledge in distributed systems and hybrid cloud computing. Our services support the secure development and release of some of the most widely used products in the world!

Engineering Systems (ES) team is responsible for developing the tools and services used to plan, design, author, manage sources, build, package, manage artifacts, and validate services and products across Azure, Windows, and Edge. The Engineering systems organization in AE+P is a diverse team changing the way Azure code is built, tested, and released across the division and the entire company.

We are a diverse, agile team focused on delivering quality cloud based, scalable solutions in a thoughtful and flexible way. As part of this team, you’ll work on the largest scale engineering system in Microsoft, learn in a fast paced, live-site focused environment, and deliver customer value with everything we do.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field and 8 - 10 years of experience in object-oriented programming and design patterns (C#, C++, .NET or Java)
• 2+ Years people Management experience
• 2+ years of experience managing a product team
• 6+ years of hands-on experience shipping products across multiple product cycles

Preferred qualifications:

• BS or MS in Computer Science or Engineering, related degree, or equivalent experience
• Dedicated to diversity and inclusion initiatives
• Ability to both lead and collaborate within and across teams effectively
• Experience creating, developing, delivering, deploying, and maintaining services, especially architectures at scale
