Senior Software Engineer

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, deploying and supporting features and our customers for confidential compute. You will help Azure customers achieve the highest levels of privacy and security by delivering technology and solutions that protect their data in use in addition to best of breed existing means in Azure for protecting data at rest and in transit. This opportunity will allow you to learn areas of cloud infrastructure, operating the cloud at scale and technologies that help secure the cloud. You will be working across multiple technology teams within Microsoft and with the industry community, helping advance the state of the art in confidential computing.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • OR equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in development of design documents for a product, application, service, OR platform.
• 3+ years of experience working in large scale cloud technologies (Azure, AWS, OR GCP).
• 1+ year(s) of experience in cloud security OR confidential compute.

Other Requirements:

• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science
  
  • OR related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript,
  • OR Python
  • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • OR equivalent experience.
• Confidential compute knowledge preferred.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
