The Azure Storage team is hiring a Senior Software Engineer in Azure Storage to join agile and diverse engineering teams for deploying Data Processing Unit (DPU) technology.
As a Senior Software Engineer in Azure Storage, you will help build performant scale out block storage on DPU hardware. You will join a fast growing team with deep cloud and enterprise storage backgrounds. You will be involved in all phases of the storage lifecycle; design, implementation, test, deployment and support. This opportunity will allow you to learn about the latest DPU hardware, cloud computing as well as building and supporting cloud services at scale.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++
- OR equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of professional software development experience building scalable, distributed services with C or C++.
- 4+ years of storage data path development experience including but not limited to block storage, file systems, caching, compression, snapshots, etc.
- 3+ years of experience in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems
Other Qualifications:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science
- OR related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++
- OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++
- OR equivalent experience.
- Passion for learning and coding Analytical and problem-solving.
- Experience or good knowledge of kernel space programming, block storage protocols, file systems, distributed systems, operating systems, etc.
- Experience with live site maintenance and/or customer escalations
