Commercial Systems & Technology (CST) team within the Engineering, Data, Operations & Tools (EDOT) organization is on a mission to empower every persona in MCAPS with digital capabilities to bring the best of Microsoft to their Customers. We are driving radical AI-led transformation of one of the most complex ecosystems of tools, platforms & experiences. At the same time, we are massively simplifying hundreds to tools built over the years to support various multi-billion MCAPS businesses and building new converged capabilities with agility to support the growing & evolving needs of those businesses. A core part of our mission is to leverage Microsoft products as a Customer Zero to drive this transformation and help our products become world-class!

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer who will be responsible for architecting, developing, and operationalizing platforms and services that enable MCAPS businesses with a multi-billion-dollar revenue generating unit, enabling them to further grow/scale with accelerated digital solutions. You will design and deliver cutting-edge technology solutions, integrate generative AI capabilities, build APIs, pipelines and connections with other products/services in the MCAPS technology stack, to enable efficient flows of work for key MCAPS personas. You will closely partner with engineers and teams across Microsoft to leverage Platforms and Frameworks, innovate with product and design teams to create User Experiences, and collaborate with Security and Trust teams to engineer compliance controls for your solutions. Our products combine backend/cloud services, data processing, state-of-the-art Generative AI/LLMs, and intuitive and easy-to-use UXs to deliver scalable and intelligent solutions to our users.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or related technical discipline & 6+ years of experience as a software engineer with proven track record of shipping successful software products & services
• 6+ years of working experience in designing, building, and managing highly available and distributed large-scale services
• Experience in full stack development using C#, Java, Java script, React Native, TypeScript, Python
• Experience with cloud services such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, GCP, or others, and familiarity with cloud concepts such as containers, orchestration, serverless, and microservices
• Experience in software engineering practices, coding and solid foundation in data structures, algorithms with proven testing, debugging and analytical skills
• Familiarity with DevOps practices such as continuous integration, continuous delivery, testing, and monitoring
• Effective communication, collaboration skills, ability to deal with ambiguity and prioritize issues to create clarity

Preferred Qualifications:

• Understanding of GenAI/LLMs and related application architecture patterns
• Business acumen and customer focus to understand customer scenarios and translate them as product/solution requirements
• Experience with software development tools such as source control systems (GIT), automated build systems (CICD), software validation systems, project tracking, and lifecycle management systems
• Ability to be influential and impactful in cross-group and matrixed team environments 
• Practical experience building analytic applications leveraging data science models and applied AI is plus
• Experience in master data & taxonomy management and related solutions is a plus

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the following:

• Shape system architectures that provide measurable customer value, along with driving engineering and operational excellence across products and services.
• Design and build scalable, multi-tenant solutions that serve divergent business and user needs in a broad capability area.

• Leverage subject-matter expertise of product features and partner with appropriate stakeholders to drive project plans, release plans, and work items.
• Act as a gatekeeper for product compliance, identifying and addressing security/privacy concerns.
• Proactively seek new knowledge and adapt to new trends, technical solutions, and patterns that will improve the availability, scalability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.
