Senior Service Engineer

As a Service Engineer II on the Azure Storage team, you’ll work on varied tasks and projects. The primary focus for this role will be to troubleshoot/debug/automate new hardware validation systems which will accelerate the velocity of new hardware enablement. We are part of a massive distributed system so the individual will need expertise in debugging complex multi system issues as well as identifying ways to continuously scale.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 3+ year(s) technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, or systems administration
  • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • OR equivalent experience.
• 1+ year(s) technical experience in storage hardware and networking.
• 3+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, or systems administration.

Other Qualifications:

• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 3+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, or service/system engineering,
  • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 1+ year(s) technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, or service/system engineering,
  • OR Hardware certification, Management Information Systems (MIS), or other industry or product specific Engineering Certifications.
  • OR equivalent experience.
• 1+ year(s) people management experience.
• 1+ year(s) technical experience working with large-scale cloud or distributed systems.
  
• 3+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, or systems administration.
