Microsoft’s Cloud business is experiencing explosive growth, and the Cloud Supply Chain (CSCP) organization is responsible for enabling the infrastructure underlying this growth. Our mission is to deliver the world’s computer with an industry-leading supply chain. We're searching for an experienced Senior Network Sourcing Manager to join our team! CSCP is responsible for strategic sourcing, customer demand forecasting, capacity planning and management, supply chain planning and execution, capacity provisioning, and decommissioning and dispositioning of datacenter assets worldwide.

 

The Cloud Sourcing, Spares, Sustainability & Security (CS4) organization within CSCP manages sourcing and supply of IT hardware for the data centers. Well-defined and executed sourcing and supply chain management ensures reliable on-time performance, optimized cost, prevents urgent and unplanned investments, and provides accurate and timely information across the supply base and internally across the infrastructure organization. Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 4+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles

    • OR Master's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 3+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles

    • OR equivalent experience.

 

 

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. 

 

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in sourcing, supply chain, strategy and/or operations.
  • Extensive experience in leading cross functional teams.
  • Knowledge of Datacenter and/or Cloud infrastructure.
  • Extensive knowledge of hardware sourcing and supply chain.
  • Proven capabilities operating in a growing, fast-paced, results-oriented environment
  • Analytical problem-solving skills focused on continuous improvement of strategy and business process.
  • Good influence and leadership skills with experience building lasting relationships across multiple layers in an organization.
  • Extensive experience in leading cross functional teams.
  • Generate quality outputs using business tools (Word, Excel modeling, Power Point slides).
  • Cloud or high-tech supply chain experience.
  • Demonstrated track record in supplier negotiation and management. 
  • Capable communication and synthesizing skills of both written and verbal.

 

 

Sourcing Engineering M4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.

  • Engage with cross functional leadership including product design, quality, and business teams to determine the design solution and supply base to deliver that solution at optimal SC, COS, cost and support.
  • Establish sourcing strategy with key partners to drive long- term goals of SC continuity of supply and cost/design optimization.
  • Drive RFQs and supplier selection process through a cross-functional analysis around supplier capabilities.
  • Develop and enable introduction of new suppliers.

  • Engage with cross-functional leadership including product design, quality, and business teams to determine design solution and supply base to deliver that solution at optimal SC, COS, and cost.
  • Lead transformation strategy and represent Network Sourcing’s voice to scale backend data and analytics architecture
  • Manage team of contractors to:
    • Establish and run supplier engagement strategy for data pipelines between Microsoft and supplier including but not limited to supply, demand, deployment and quality data.
    • Lead and establish strategy for MSFT data structures and reporting.
