As we continue to grow our market share, we are faced with many core infrastructure and scale challenges driving a need to build resilient systems while ensuring no customers are impacted throughout the change management lifecycle. The OneDrive and SharePoint team is looking for Principal Software Engineering Manager to be a part of this journey.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
- 4+ years people management experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- 8+ years of professional software design and development experience with at least one of C/C++/C#/Java/Rust
- Prior experience with developing large high-performance high-scale high-reliability high-availability, high-durability services, with service-oriented development and cloud-based systems
- Demonstrated commitment to the success of others, as a leader in the team you will be expected to mentor and manage developers
- Experience in problem solving, design, rapid prototyping, coding and debugging skills including experience creating strategies and approach that deliver industry leading availability, reliability, durability and performance on moderately reliable hardware and software stacks
- Good communication skills and a track record of cross-group/cross-discipline collaboration
- Quick learner who thrives in an ambiguous environment
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Excellent collaboration skills and ability to be adaptable and agile in development
- Demonstrated experience as a technical lead or people manager
Software Engineering M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,600 - $256,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $173,200 - $282,200 per year.
