Principal Software Engineer

The Enterprise Clouds team extends the reach of M365 to new geographies, government customers with unique requirements, customers with specific regulatory and compliance requirements, and through investments in features that help unblock specific groups of large enterprise customers. We are also driving investment in areas like on-premise servers that help maintain our presence in these markets. In addition, we improve the quality of service and our customer experience by investing in service and site reliability engineering and delivering a differentiated experience for large enterprises in E+D is to build the very best apps, services, and devices for customers to empower them to do their best work 

Our mission is to empower Microsoft’s capabilities to provision and build new Azure clouds. You will be part of our team to progressively engineer and develop IaC (infrastructure as code) models and tools to form an ultimate buildout orchestration enabling M365 services to be rapidly instantiated in new clouds while maintaining all security, compliance and regulations aspects.

Required Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • OR equivalent experience.
• Principal/Lead level of technical engineering experience. 
• Hands on experience with distributed systems and services in the cloud. 
• Proven ability to tackle complex technical issues, proper research and design and high-quality implementations.  

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Experience in Infrastructure as code (IaC) development. 
• Cloud CI/CD processes.

As part of the team, you will: 

• Be responsible of the buildout orchestration and collaborating with several M365 services to guarantee standardized and automated buildout of those services.
• Utilize your skills and learn more about Azure clouds, services infrastructure and build/release pipelines, develop models and tools to apply more automation of the cloud buildout.
